Your HVAC system isn’t keeping up or isn’t working at all. There are a few steps you can take to potentially save yourself a service call fee.

  1. Check Your Filters-
    • If your filter is dirty; your HVAC system won’t work properly. Most filters need to be changed every month, especially if you have animals in the home and during very cold or hot months.
  2. Check Your Thermostat –
    • If someone has changed your settings, it can be a cause for your home to feel uncomfortable: hot or cold. If you have a complicated thermostat, ask your technician to explain how it works the next time you get a tune-up. Another cause for your HVAC system to not work properly is if the batteries in yourthermostat are dead if your thermostat uses batteries. Make sure that if it usesbatteries, that those are not dead.
  3. Check the Circuit Breaker –
    • Ensure that the fuses to your circuit break are in working order and have not burned out. A power outage can or a jolt of electrical energy can trip the breaker as well.
  4. Check Your HVAC Switches –
    • Most units have two switches that provide power to your indoor and outdoor A/C unit. Check these to make sure that they have not been accidentally turned off.
