Screen Shot 2017-04-24 at 3.13.40 PMRecently, all of our HVAC technicians completed their NATE certification! NATE stands for North American Technician Excellence (NATE) and is the nation’s largest non-profit certification organization for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technicians. Our technicians completed in-house training programs in order to prepare for this test and all of them successfully passed. We are so proud of our guys!

“NATE certification tests represent real world working knowledge of HVACR systems. Developed by a committee of industry experts nationwide, our NATE exams represent HVACR topics pertinent to contractors, educators, manufacturers and utilities alike. All of the NATE tests are rigorous, multiple-choice, knowledge-based tests and validate a technician’s knowledge. NATE candidates may earn Installation and/or Service certification in one or more Specialty areas, including:

  • Air ConditioningNate Certified Logo USE

  • Hydronics Gas (service only)
  • Hydronics Oil (service only)

Thanks again for all your support. We are so thankful for so many great customers that want to learn and be educated by our NATE Certified Technicians!!!

UV Light Purification System

sneeze-1431371

Allergy Season is on the Way… UV Light to the Rescue!  Say goodbye to mild winter that we have had, and hello to spring!  Here at Peterman Heating, Cooling, & Plumbing we are very excited for the summer! Aren’t you?!  Unfortunately, that also means allergies. If you view the upcoming spring season as a double-edged sword, you are not alone. On one hand the sun comes out a little more; however, the start of spring also signifies the beginning of allergy season. Itchy eyes, runny noses, scratchy throats, and sneezing are all signs that allergy season is active.

Fortunately, we have a product that can help alleviate some of the annoying symptoms associated with the spring allergy season….

The UV Light Purification System uses a unique combination of UV light and activated Screen Shot 2017-03-20 at 3.41.55 PMcarbon cells to reduce airborne allergens, odors, mold, and germs throughout the entire home. The UV light system is installed in the ductwork of the central air system so it can remove airborne contaminants as they pass through your system. This can be extremely beneficial when it comes to providing an allergen-free environment inside your home this spring.

Not only does the UV Light Purification System help allergies, but it also helps with other things!  Pet Odors, Tobacco Smoke, Cooking Smells…No Problem!!

Along with the reduction of allergens and germs, the UV Light Purification System is able to eliminate smells in the home including pet odors, smoke, and cooking smells.

In recent years, not only allergies, but environmental issues have become a major concern for many homeowners. This attention on the environment has created a new focus on the quality of the indoor air in our homes and working spaces. The EPA states that we now spend up to 90% of our time indoors and that our indoor air can be up to five times more polluted than outdoor air. These confined living spaces trap & concentrate airborne particulates like bacteria, viruses, molds, microbials, gases, & VOC’s (volatile organic compounds), including some that are extremely toxic. Modern synthetic materials combined with troublesome microorganisms, contaminate our contact surfaces & indoor breathing environments. These air quality concerns have fueled growth in new technologies to filter and treat the indoor air in our homes. Consider the fact that we now spend 90% of our life indoors, living, breathing, & growing in artificial environments. This makes effective indoor air & surface treatment an essential investment!

If this is something that you may be interested in getting put on during your spring tune-up or have additional questions regarding this product, please contact Chad Peterman at chad@petermanhvac.com. We can make arrangements to have your new UV Light Purification System installed when the service technician is out this spring!

ac repair, recharge my ac, air conditioning service indianapolis, greenwood ac repair, hvac replacement indianapolisHere in Indianapolis and Greenwood, the cooling season has definitely arrived. The temperatures are heating up and undoubtedly, you have already turned on your air conditioning unit. Most homeowners are unfamiliar with most HVAC verbiage, but one term they are very familiar with is Refrigerant. The reason being is because it is often leaking or low in older air conditioning systems. This requires your air conditioning contractor to top off the refrigerant in your air conditioning system about this time every year. The bad news is the government is phasing old refrigerant out because of the harmful effects it has on the environment.
