When you put in a new home comfort system, it is important for you to have a proper thermostat that controls your new system. The wrong thermostat can cause issues with your furnace or air conditioner functioning correctly. For this reason Bryant has designed state-of-the-art thermostats to control the premium equipment they manufacture. At Peterman, we install a new thermostat with every installation. It is important to us that your system functions at its full capacity and efficiency.
Depending on the system you choose, we will install the correct thermostat for the system. Since each system has a number of different features, each thermostat is geared to control these specific features.

Bryant Tier System Explained...
The Bryant tier system is used to categorize systems. These tiers offer the homeowner different benefits when it comes to their home comfort system.
Evolution® System Thermostat – The Evolution System is Bryant's top of the line model with all the "bells and whistles." This thermostat allows the homeowner maximum control over temperature, fan speed, humidity, air quality, and runs diagnostic tests on the equipment. An Evolution thermostat paired with a matching system gives any homeowner the most cost savings and maximum energy efficiency. In fact, the Evolution thermostat will actually make your system more energy efficient as it gets to know your heating and cooling habits!
Preferred™ Series Thermostat – The Preferred Series thermostat is another outstanding model by Bryant. Second only to the Evolution, the Preferred Series thermostat offers the homeowner control over temperature and humidity. This thermostat is also able to control dual stages of heating that are offered on the Bryant furnaces.
Legacy™ Line Thermostat – The Legacy Line is the basic "builder's model" thermostat. This programmable stat offers any homeowner temperature and fan control. Homeowners can look to see the least energy savings when this thermostat is paired with the Legacy Line.
Money Saving Thermostat Tips
- Make sure your thermostat is in a position to give an accurate reading. If your thermostat is located in a draft, on a cold outside wall, in direct sunlight, or near a register it could give you an improper reading. A system that is set for 70 degrees, but is maintaining a temperature of 73 degrees, because the reading is inaccurate, can increase you fuel bills by up to 7 percent!
- If you are going to be gone for a few days on vacation, make sure you set your thermostat back. If no one is going to be in the home, there is no need to maintain your preferred temperature. However, be careful not to set your system below 55 degrees Fahrenheit to avoid freezing pipes.
- If you are comfortable with it you can also save money by setting your thermostat back at night when you go to bed. A programmable thermostat is great for this because it will automatically set it back about the time you go to bed. Dropping your thermostat by 1 degree for an eight-hour period can reduce your fuel bill by 1 percent!
- If you are have people over for a party, set your thermostat back. All the people in your house will raise the temperature of the home without using your heat. This saves energy and money on utility bills.
